LAWSA is the Lancaster and Westmorland Society of Architects, the local branch of RIBA North West.
We represent all architects living and working in the Lancaster and South Cumbria area who are both registered with the Architects Registration Board and members of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA*).
Our aim at LAWSA is to champion better local architecture, communities and the environment.
We campaign for good design in our local area
by organising publicity, exhibitions and talks.
The LAWSA Lancaster area has member practices in Lancaster, Caton, the Kellets, Silverdale and Tatham.
The LAWSA Westmorland area, now South Cumbria, has member practices in Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Sedbergh, Windermere, Ambleside, Appleby, Cartmel, Ulverston and Barrow-in-Furness.
A LAWSA architectural practice, with local knowledge of the area, its planning policies, plus day to day experience of local trades and materials, has all the necessary skills and expertise to design your project, whether it is a small extension, a new house, or a large commercial building.
